EDUCATIONAL ENGAGEMENTS


The School of Art & Design at Mediterranean College hosted a distinguished panel discussion featuring prominent Greek fashion designers Stella Panagopoulou and Valicia Gotsi, founders of the brand 2+1=2, alongside designer Xenofon Dritsoulas and artist Angeliki Stamatakou. The discussion was moderated by Danae Ioannou.
The event explored the intersection of art and fashion as dynamic platforms for social and political expression. It encouraged meaningful dialogue between the panelists and the audience, underscoring the influential role of creative disciplines in shaping contemporary cultural discourse.
Michigan State University Studio Visit

The artist had the honour of hosting Professor Jon Frey, classical archaeologist; Professor Rebecca Casement, ceramicist and educator; Professor Daniel Trego, photographer, and their talented students from Michigan State University at her studio. This visit was part of an exceptional academic program that brings together the study of ancient ceramics at the excavation site in Isthmia with the creation of contemporary ceramic works in Corinth. Engaging with such passionate and dedicated professors and students was an inspiring experience. During the visit, the artist spoke about her practice and creative journey, and took time to engage in thoughtful conversation with each student. Reflecting on the continuity of the program, she also shared: “I would also like to mention how much I admire last year’s students. I’ve been following their progress and wish them continued success.”

Angeliki Stamatakou had the distinct honour of hosting a studio visit with Professor Jon Frey, a classical archaeologist, Professor Rebecca Casement, a ceramicist and educator, and a group of ten students from Michigan State University. The visit was part of a unique educational initiative based in Greece, which brings together the study of ancient ceramics at the archaeological site of Isthmia, directed by Professor Frey, with the creation of contemporary ceramic works at the Global Art Studio in Corinth. This interdisciplinary program fosters a rare and meaningful dialogue between historical research and contemporary artistic practice. The visit was made possible through the efforts of Eleonore Trenado Finetis, founder of Greek Ceramix Contemporary and Mon Coin Studio in Monastiraki, whose role in facilitating this connection is gratefully acknowledged. The exchange offered a valuable opportunity for academic and artistic engagement.
Ellinikon Experience Park / "Cell of Life"

The “Cell of Life,” a dedicated creative space located in Plaza A of the Ellinikon Experience Park, recently hosted a distinguished ceramics and painting workshop curated by acclaimed artists Angeliki Stamatakou and Charles Brun.
Designed to inspire and educate, the workshop offered young participants the opportunity to engage with the fundamentals of ceramic and visual arts, while developing their creative skills through the hands-on creation of their own unique artworks.
